HOTEL Istana Kuala Lumpur City Centre will be featuring a delectable Ramadan buffet spread of over 100 dishes, which will showcase the best of authentic local dishes and flavours that will remind you of home.
The hotel’s executive chef, Al Fitri Al Bakri, said the buffet range includes a wide range of Malay-style dishes, from salads to a mouth-watering dessert selection.
Diners can indulge in a delicious variety of kerabu dishes such as Kerabu Isi Ketam, Kerabu Betik, Kerabu Udang, Kerabu Daging Tomato and Kerabu Ayam Pegaga.
The hotel’s signature dishes such as Local Style Smoked Catfish in Spicy Coconut Gravy, Butter Prawns, Braised Fish Head in rich local-style thick curry with Tomato, Okra and Herbs, Indian Lamb Bandai Korma are some of the offerings not to be missed.
Guests can also look forward to the chefs’ Live Action Stations, where local favourites such as Char Kuey Teow, Lemang and its condiments, sizzling grill delights (Portuguese style) and last but not least, the Carvery Station that features Whole Roasted Balinese Marinated Lamb served with a selection of Vegetables with Mustard, Black Pepper, Mushroom and Rosemary Sauce, among others.
To add to the excitement of this gastronomic journey, our chefs have also added signature dishes from various states in Malaysia as well as other countries such as Nasi Dalcha, Tulang Rusuk, Pakistani Briyani, Kelantanese Traditional Rice with Fresh Long Beans and Roasted Beef as well as Vietnamese Spring Rolls.
In addition to an authentic Malay fare, patrons can also choose from a selection of Indian, Western, Chinese and fusion cuisines, so there is something for everyone.
As most Malaysians love the King of Fruits, the hotel is also presenting a diversity of durian delights in the form of glutinous rice with serawa durian, dodol durian, durian strudel, cendol durian, air batu campur with durian and durian crepes.
Patrons can end the great culinary journey with sweet selections that include Malay kuih such as Keria, Onde-Onde, Cucur Badak, Bingka Ubi, Tepung Talam, Kuih Lapis, Putu Piring or, if you fancy a healthy dessert, seasonal local fruits will be on the buffet counter.
If you are craving for Western desserts, try the Bread and Butter Pudding, Apple Crumble, Blueberry Crumble, Tiramisu, Chocolate Brownies and Cream Brulee.
